El Segundo vacations 2020
El Segundo is a city not far from LAX airport in Los Angeles, California. Situated a little way down the coast from Santa Monica, El Segundo is a great destination if you’d like to be close enough to the main hub of LA without staying right in the bustling center. Another advantage to staying here is that it tends to be slightly cheaper than some of the more tourist-focused areas.
The town has a long, rich cultural history, and, in the sixties, El Segundo became famous for its aerospace industry. Today, it’s better known as a calmer, more peaceful alternative to Southern California’s more popular coastal areas.
El Segundo is a great town in itself with plenty to do. Children and adults alike will be thrilled by the Roundhouse Aquarium, and you could take the family to watch a vintage silent movie at the Old Town Music Hall. Furthermore, if you want to head into central LA, great attractions such as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Griffith Observatory, and Disneyland Resort are all only a day trip away.
El Segundo vacations encompass the best of both worlds. You can enjoy all the exciting attractions that the world-famous Los Angeles has to offer and, at the end of the day, retreat back to this quieter, friendly little town for some much-needed rest and relaxation.
We have a range of packages and accommodation options to suit all preferences and budgets, so if you’re looking to travel within the US, book your El Segundo vacation today.
Your guide to El Segundo vacations
Things to do in El Segundo
Roundhouse Aquarium - This aquarium is, as you’d expect, a visitor center that houses many exhibits of marine life. However, it's much more than that. It’s also an Oceanographic Teaching Station, which is an educational institution. Certain parts of the aquarium have been set up for the sole use of teaching students. There’s a great deal to see here, and there's an on-site café to make your visit even more pleasant.
El Segundo Beach - El Segundo Beach is great for those who wish to soak up the sun and enjoy the sand without commercialization or crowds. This little spot is far less popular than other hubs in Southern California. The reason for this is that the wastewater treatment plant and the refinery are both nearby, so the scenery isn’t as naturally beautiful as other beaches.
Old Town Music Hall - Old Town Music Hall is indeed a cultural landmark, but it also offers a far richer experience. Ever since 1968, the hall has invited visitors to come in and watch old-fashioned silent and sound movies. While watching a silent movie, you’re likely to hear the pipe organ, which dates back to 1925, providing accompaniment. The Old Town Music Hall is also a great place to attend live concerts.
