International Drive Vacations

When it comes to family-friendly vacations, few can compete with International Drive, Florida. Commonly referred to as I-Drive, it's the main tourist strip in Orlando, offering up endless entertainment and dining options.

Stretching for just over 11 miles, the area originated in the 1960’s and has gone on to become one of the busiest tourist strips in the world. It's just a few minutes from the Universal Orlando Resort, but you don’t even need to leave the strip to have a great vacation. With hundreds of stores, restaurants and unique attractions such as crazy golf and a Titanic Museum, you’ll be overwhelmed by the entertainment on offer.

As the street literally connects all of the major attractions throughout Orlando, you’ll never be stuck for things to see and do. Treat the family to a trip to Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins, or explore the fascinating world of Ripley’s Believe It or Not!. Madame Tussauds is also situated along the strip, and adrenaline junkies won’t want to miss iFly Orlando, with its indoor skydiving wind tunnel.

If you’re here in the evenings, you’ll want to catch a dinner show, combining excellent dining with live entertainment. Don’t forget about the strip’s shopping opportunities too. You’ll find everything from dollar stores to luxury boutiques.

Flights from New York to Orlando take just under three hours. It benefits from a subtropical climate, with temperatures ranging from 59°F to 82°F throughout the year. May through October is known as rainy season here, so you might want to consider heading off on International Drive vacations in the winter months rather than summer.
