Art lovers will feel at home here. There's a wealth of public art, with many sculptures and statues in the area. Santa Monica beaches
Santa Monica beach joins up with other great beaches, making up a long golden stretch. Just below is Venice beach, and further up the coast you’ll reach prestigious Malibu. Santa Monica beach is glamorous, laid-back and safe. It’s a perfect spot for those wishing to sunbathe or surf.
The beach is famous for its pier. Here you’ll find a full funfair, as well as stalls, bars and eateries. Street performers and sellers also flock here, so you’ll always be entertained. The end of the pier has more of a romantic feel, and often you’ll find an acoustic guitar player enhancing the atmosphere. The beach is close to Santa Monica’s center with a huge range of shops, bars and restaurants. While some districts of LA lack a center and a feeling of community, Santa Monica wins out in these aspects.
If you want a change, wander south to Venice beach, otherwise known as ‘Muscle Beach’ because of the bodybuilders you’ll see working out there.
